The Hague is the only major city in the Netherlands that lies directly on the sea. What makes it all interesting is the contrast of it all – this beautiful stately city knows to have fun by the beach. Scheveningen is a fun, famous seaside resort in Holland.
There are so many things to do and many places to see here. Churches, museums, ruins, historic picturesque streets – all competing left and right to attract you to explore.
Zaanse Schans, a small village within Zaandam, is known for historic, authentic 18th century windmills and wooden houses.
Amsterdam, the capital city of Netherlands, is certainly one of the most unique, most controversial, and vibrant cultural cities I’ve ever been. Picturesque canals, tulips, bikes, Van Gogh, Marijuana, windmills, sex shows, friendly people, all of this in Amsterdam.
Known as Europe’s largest port city, with rich maritime history, Rotterdam is a contrast to that old-world Europe with its innovative and futuristic architecture.
Vienna, the capital city of Austria, is a beautiful masterpiece. I couldn’t help but be amazed by the baroque streetscapes and imperial palaces and soul-stirring orchestral music.
Ah, New York City… the soaring skyscrapers, food, fashion, traffic, nightlife scene, and people of all colors, shapes and forms. This city is meant for you to experience every bit of it.
Colorado, the Rocky Mountain state that has since quite enticed adventurers to experience the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
Charleston, this gem could easily seduce you with its Southern charm – from the warmth and hospitality of Charlestonians, delicious food, historic landmarks, to overall dynamic culture and vibe.
I was only there for a few days so my exploration of the city was very limited. But I learned quickly that San Antonio is city full of history – from its Native American occupation, Spanish explorer discovery, Old West, to the Battle of the Alamo, and others.
Aside from being known for their cheesesteaks, Philadelphia is also a beautiful city full of history. I got to visit Philly few years ago and fell in love with it. The mix of classic and modern architecture, the urban beauty, food scene + thriving beer scene with beer gardens, museums, parks and historical places are what makes this city come alive.
The Biltmore Estate, created by George Vanderbilt, is an 8,000 acre full of stunning estate grounds. They call it the Biltmore House, but it’s truly more like a castle.
Canadian and the US rockies are a sight to behold – stretching from British Columbia & Alberta Canada to Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado in United States. Unforgettable sights of wildlife, hiking trails and lakes surrounding these rockies could easily captivate you no matter what the season is. The most ideal time to visit the rockies would be in spring or summer time.
The medieval streets, the baroque style churches, historical bridges, the mesmerizing Gothic grace and Renaissance architecture seems to be competing left and right as you explore the city.
Hamburg is one of my favorite cities on Earth. It is a city full of different characters. It has the port city vibe along with the maritime history, a musical city, innovative architecture mixed with the classics, the lakes and river banks, the shopping scene, the churches, etc.
There’s something about the city – the contrast of its character… It is lively, but chill. It is classic but modern. It is stylish but also timeless. They hold something precious and rich, but they are modest. To think that Antwerp’s most precious trade involves diamonds, they sure don’t broadcast it to the whole world.
If there’s one place in Canada I would recommend you to visit, it would be Lake Louise, in Alberta. The lake is simply a reflection of natural beauty. I was here a few years ago and had to come back for more. There’s nothing like it.
Toronto is a multi-culturally diverse city – different languages, colors, sizes, shapes.
